Angela Agresti was born and raised in Indianapolis where she was trained at Jordan College Academy of Dance before moving to the University of North Carolina School of the Arts for ballet. During her time in Indianapolis, she trained with Frank and Jane Weiner at the Jordan Academy, and received modern dance training through opportunities with Gregory Hancock Dance Theatre, including performances in The Nutcracker, GHDT’s student company, and main company.

Angela went on to dance in Cincinnati Ballet for one season before moving to Amsterdam to the Dutch National Ballet where she danced for 8 years. While at Dutch National Ballet, she danced a mix of classical ballet, Balanchine works, Hans van Manen, and contemporary and neoclassical works, along with new creations. She has been featured in William Forsythe’s Second Detail, Alexei Ratmansky’s Don Quichot, along with many other demi-soloist roles in ballets such as The Dream, Paquita, and Swan Lake. Not only has she been able to share her gifts as a dancer, but she has also worked alongside multiple choreographers at Dutch National Ballet as a ballet master. These works were performed within the company, and brought to the Origen Cultural Festival in Riom, Switzerland where she was also responsible for leading the dancers in daily class. Angela recently expanded her repertoire by staging a ballet by Annabelle Lopez Ochoa for the Kansas City Ballet, and worked on the first virtual reality ballet–Peter Leung’s Night Fall–that has been presented at festivals and the first Virtual Reality Cinema in Amsterdam.

Angela began teaching at Ballet Theatre of Carmel Academy in 2018 and currently teaches the Contemporary Improvisation Day Program class, Intermediate Pointe, and Elementary Ballet Technique. She also coaches Youth America Grand Prix participants as part of the BTCA Soloist Initiative and is a rehearsal associate for BTCA productions. In addition to her positions at BTCA, Ms. Agresti is an adjunct ballet professor at Anderson University, a company ballet teacher/rehearsal assistant for Gregory Hancock Dance Theatre and an instructor at the Gregory Hancock Dance Theatre Academy, and teaches ballet and provides private lessons at Expressenz.

Angela holds American Ballet Theatre National Training Curriculum Certifications in Pre-Primary-Level 3, and Levels 4-5.

As well as teaching, assisting, choreographing, and dancing, she is a Certified Integrative Nutrition Health Coach working to guide and educate clients in total mind-body health and wellness through personal and group coaching. She has also co-developed a gently-guided healing movement class called Hypno-Move that is presented in Indianapolis.
