Dance in our Spring Ballet!

Children ages 5-8* can join the cast of Swan Lake! This is a fun way for your child to participate in our spring production. No prior dance experience is required.

Each dancer will perform in 1 of our 2 performances. Dancers will learn basic ballet technique and enjoy a unique performance experience. This is a good choice for children considering adding ballet as a new activity, as well as for Metropolitan Youth Ballet’s Pre-Primary level students.

Registration opens in February

*Children must be 5 years old by February 1, 2026.

Rehearsal Schedule*
  • Fridays, 5:00-6:00pm, beginning March 20
  • No rehearsal on Friday, April 10 due to spring break
  • Mandatory Dress Rehearsals (each dancer will be called to one Saturday dress rehearsal and one theatre dress rehearsal):
    • Dress Rehearsal #1: Saturday, May 9, 1:30 – 3:45pm
    • Dress Rehearsal #2: Saturday, May 16, 10, 1:30 – 3:45pm
    • Dress Rehearsal #3: Thursday, May 21, 5:00 – 9:30 (at the theatre)
    • Dress Rehearsal #4: Friday, May 22, 5:00 – 9:30 (at the theatre)

Your dancer will not be needed for this entire span of the dress rehearsals. Their committed time will not exceed 90 minutes per rehearsal. A more detailed breakdown of specific rehearsal times will be available at a later date.

Performances*

Our two performances are on Saturday, May 23 at 2:00pm and 7:30pm, at STAR Bank Performing Arts Center, Zionsville. Each dancer will perform in 1 of our 2 performances.

Required Attire

This attire is provided by the student and intended for use in rehearsal. The program fee covers performance costumes provided by MYB.

Girls’ uniform:

  • Black leotard
  • Pink tights
  • Pink ballet flats
  • Hair in a bun
  • Chiffon skirt optional

Boys’ uniform:

  • White dance shirt
  • Black tights
  • White/black ballet flats
Fees

The total Be a Fairy program fee is $232. This fee covers seven weeks of rehearsal, dress rehearsals, costume rentals, and production fees. Students provide dance shoes and rehearsal attire.

Each dancer will receive a complimentary recording of both performances on a USB drive.
