- Lipstick, in a shade of pink
- Eyeliner and eye shadow, in earth tones like brown, beige, or cream
- Blush, in a shade of pink
- Mascara (older dancers may wear false eyelashes)
- Natural –not too heavy makeup (children should still look like children)

Undergarments (ladies)
- Pink tights or skin toned tights
- Nude skin tone leotard (as underdress for costumes)
- Black leotard to wear for warm–up. Please remember that the nude leotard is an undergarment and should either be covered by a costume or a solid–colored leotard unless you are changing!
Attire (gentlemen)
- Please come in a white T shirt and either bike shorts or tights and also a pair of sweat pants to wear over your tights during break periods.
- Have Black/white tights and/or sox as per instructions from your individual instructors for each piece.
- Have Black/white or tan ballet shoes/jazz shoes as per instructions from your individual instructors for each piece.
- All Dancers should bring extra booties and warm up gear to keep their muscles warm when they are not dancing.
- It is also recommended that heavy sox or booties cover the ballet shoes/jazz shoes when walking on the floor surface backstage so that the wax from that flooring does not reach our stage surface.
(Please remember to walk, not run, backstage to avoid slipping and falling!)
General Theatre Procedures
Arrival
- At the theatre, make sure your dancer signs in at the call board (or please sign in on their behalf if they are too young)
- Arrive with your dancer’s hair and makeup already done. Please see the hair and makeup guidelines if you have questions.
- Arrive with your dancer already dressed in appropriate dance attire with street clothing on over top (not the actual costume)
- Have you dancer bring a cover–up to wear when he or she is not in costume so that their performance tights and undergarments will remain clean. A robe or pajama pants/jazz pants and a T–shirt work well. A button-down shirt will keep hair from getting mussed.
During the Performance Day
- There is absolutely no eating in costume, even with a cover–up. Dancers must remove their costume and cover their tights and nude leotard with their cover–up before eating.
- Dancers may bring food with them on performance day, but it is not to be consumed in a dressing room at any time. During designated breaks, dancers may eat in the hallways with a cover–up on to protect their tights and undergarments.
- Allow your dancer to bring something to do quietly during long breaks between their dances. Card games, sewing or braiding crafts, and books are good choices. Please leave expensive electronics at home, as we cannot be responsible for them. Also avoid anything that may stain or damage dance shoes, such as markers or crayons. Colored pencils are a better choice!
After Rehearsals
Be an Angel, Joy of Dance, Creative Dance, Pre-Primary, Primary and Elementary level dancers:
- After their piece is done at dress rehearsal we advise that dancers leave the theatre for a break and/or proceed quietly to the auditorium to view the rest of the show. We will have a designated area where our dancers can be picked up by their family members. Please be sure that they have returned by their call time.
Intermediate – Pre/Pro Dancers
- Plan to remain at the theatre between dress rehearsal and performance as the turnaround time is very short, so please pack for the day accordingly. If you do leave the theatre, you are to return by call time.
After the Show
- After the, dancers WILL NOT be dismissed until their dressing rooms are clean. No exceptions will be made. Please instruct your dancer to follow all policies involving food and to keep their space tidy throughout the performance day. Clean up should not be saved for after the show! A faculty member will come inspect your area to approve your dismissal.
All Day
- Have fun! This is what we have worked for!
